Booker Invites Feedback for Upcoming White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health

Press Release

Date: July 11, 2022
Location: Newark, New Jersey

Today, U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) invited New Jersey anti-hunger advocates, medical professionals, direct service providers, family farmers and ranchers, and people who have personally experienced the impact of hunger, food insecurity, or diet-related illness to share feedback for the upcoming White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health.

Booker secured funding to convene the conference in the Fiscal Year 2022 government funding bill. The conference aims to create a national strategy to improve access to affordable, nutritious food for all Americans.

"More than 50 years since the first Conference on Food, Nutrition, and Health, the White House will convene a panel of diverse stakeholders this fall to address our nation's failed food policies that have left many Americans without access to affordable, healthy foods and have caused an explosion of diet-related diseases," said Sen. Booker. "On an issue that has impacted the lives of millions of Americans, it's incredibly important that we hear directly from those affected and I invite people to share their feedback."

To submit your statement to Senator Booker's office, visit https://www.booker.senate.gov/nutritionconference. Statements submitted to Senator Booker's office will be compiled and forwarded directly to the White House.

The deadline to submit comments is Thursday, July 14, 2022.
